Our Parish History
The Edwardstown Catholic Parish was originally part of the Brighton Parish, with the first Mass celebrated in the Edwardstown area in June 1915.
St Anthony’s School was established nearby, thanks to the commitment and dedication of the Dominican Sisters, who helped lay the foundations of Catholic education in the area.
In 2012, the Edwardstown Catholic Parish underwent a major refurbishment, made possible by the sale of St Maria Goretti Church in Ascot Park. A small chapel dedicated to St Maria Goretti was incorporated into the parish grounds — a quiet, intimate space for parishioners and visitors to gather for personal prayer and weekday Masses.
