Inspiring confident, capable learners from Reception to Year 6

We believe quality teaching leads to quality learning. Our educators are committed to professional growth and evidence-based practice, working in partnership with students and families to support each child’s success.

Learning at St Anthony’s is shaped by the Australian Curriculum, the Crossways Religious Education Framework, and Catholic Education South Australia’s Living Learning Leading Framework. Together, these frameworks guide us in developing thriving people, capable learners and leaders for the world God desires.

Key Learning Areas

All teaching and learning is aligned with the Australian Curriculum across the following areas:

  • Religious Education
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Technologies (Design and Digital Technologies)
  • The Arts (Dance, Drama, Media Arts, Music, Visual Arts)
  • Health and Physical Education
  • Languages – Japanese

Many of these areas are delivered by specialist teachers, with Music, Japanese and Physical Education offering expert instruction and enriching, hands-on experiences.

Assessment and Feedback

We use a variety of assessment strategies to monitor progress and support student growth. Assessment is both formative (ongoing) and summative (at key points), with students actively involved in the process.

Teachers provide regular feedback and feedforward to help students reflect, improve and stretch themselves. Assessment data also helps us identify individual needs and implement targeted support when necessary.

We empower students to wonder, question, explore and grow in a learning environment that nurtures curiosity, creativity and confidence.

Learning with Technology

Technology is an important learning tool at St Anthony’s. It supports creativity, problem-solving and access to information, while helping students become responsible digital citizens.

We provide:

  • Smart TVs in every classroom
  • School iPads and laptops
  • A Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program in Years 4 to 6
  • Sound field systems in all rooms to support inclusive learning, particularly for students with auditory processing needs
